SCIP Notification

SCIP - Substances of Concern in Products (articles, as such or complex objects)

Articles containing substances of very high concern (SVHC) in concentrations above 0.1% are subject to mandatory reporting. EU-based manufacturers, importers, distributors and assemblers are required to provide information on such articles in the SCIP database.Retailers who only supply products directly to consumers are exempt from SCIP Notification.

Since January 5, 2021, articles that meet these criteria must be notified in the SCIP database. The notification must include information on the identity of the article, the name and identifiers of the SVHC substance in the article with its concentration range and the material category. For complex products, the location where the relevant component is installed in the article is required. If applicable, additional information on the safe use of the article should be provided.
